Embalming
Music City Mortuary has earned a reputation for quality embalming. Our state of the art operating room, allows us to care for the deceased in a sanitary and professional environment. Our embalmers are experienced, and talented professionals, who pride themselves in the care they provide.
In some cases, embalming may be inappropriate or nor desired. In these instances, Music City Mortuary has a Refrigerated Cold Vault to hold the deceased until transportation arrangements have been made. We also keep specialized gel-packs in stock for shipping persons who have not been embalmed. Cremation
Cremations are performed in our On-Site Crematorium; Music City Crematory Service. We operate two state of the art cremation units. Our units meet or exceed all Federal, State and Local requirements, and are among the most environmentally friendly units available. Transportation
Whether you need our assistance with a removal from a local institution, or a residence, our dedicated and trained staff stands ready to represent your funeral home with dignity and respect. Our fleet of vehicles are professional equipped to accommodate any need, and are dispatched using GPS technology for prompt service. Shipping
Our experience and expertise in making arrangements to return loved ones home is unmatched in this area. Our services include the local removal, embalming, care and preparation of the deceased. Preparing and securing the necessary documents, including the death certificate, and transit permits. We arrange transportation to your preference of airports, and coordinate with the airlines to schedule the flights to meet the family’s schedule. Finally the deceased in placed in an airline approved shipping case, and transported to the Nashville International Airport for the flight home. During the entire time our staff will communicate with you and keep you informed as to scheduled and status.
International Shipping presents funeral directors with unique challenges. Dealing with a foreign embassy, or trying to interpret complicated shipping requirements is something we are trained to help you with. As a Known Shipper of the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) we have worldwide contacts to ensure seamless service. Livery
Music City Mortuary offers funeral coach and driver service, or flower van and driver service. Our vehicles are clean and well maintained. In addition, we can provide both licensed or unlicensed staff for help on funeral services.
Death Certificates/Permits
We offer this service to prepare the death certificate, track down the physician who will sign it, obtain the signature, and file the original with the local registrar in the county health department where the death occurs. Our staff hand delivers the certificates directly to the doctors office in almost all of the cases we handle. In Tennessee, certified copies are $15.00 each. A Veteran is provided 3 copies at no charge. A Burial/Transit Permit is required for a deceased who is being transported out of state. When cremation is to be the final disposition, and the death has occurred in Tennessee, a Cremation Permit must be obtained from the health department in the county in which the death occurs. Cremation Permits are $25.00. In most cases, a signed copy of the Death Certificate must be reviewed by the County Medical Examiner, and then the Local Registrar in the County where the death occurred will issue the Permit. >> Learn More
